Wexford 4-18 Offaly 1-13

Wexford pulled off an amazing victory as their 14-point winning margin sent them through to the second phase with Offaly dumped into the relegation zone.

Wexford, going into this game, needed to beat Offaly by 12 points or more to gain the third spot from Division 1A.

Having led 2-06 to 0-08 at the break - the two first half goals coming from Chris McGrath - they turned in an amazing second 35 minutes.

Fifty-four minutes into the game, Wexford had hit that elusive 12-point mark, leading 3-13 to 0-10, the goal coming from Paul Codd.

A fourth goal from Donal Berry sealed their passage through to the second phase, as Offaly’s second-half collapse was complete, with their only danger man up front - Damian Murray - who finished the game with 1-8 of his side's total.
