Dublin chiefs defend endorsement deal

The Dublin county board has defended its recent decision to sell endorsement rights of the football team to a newspaper.

From now on official Dublin team pictures and other images will only be available to the Dublin Daily News which is set to launch next month.

A statement from the county board said: "It is not a sale of image rights as suggested but rather an arrangement by which a number of individual players have committed to personally endorse a new paper in various ways."
