Meath bounce back with Kildare win

Meath bounced back from defeats at the hands of Laois and Cavan to edge out Kildare in an exciting National Football League Division 1B encounter at Pairc Tailteann, Navan.

The Lilywhites were reduced to 14 men when corner back Brian Lacey was sent off by Armagh referee Brendan Gorman five minutes into the second half.

The home side turned in a much more positive display and led by 0-4 to 0-1 after 15 minutes.

With Dermot Earley and Karl Ennis to the fore, Kildare rallied to gain a 0-9 to 0-6 interval advantage.

They were 0-12 to 0-11 before Meath finished strongly with points from Donal Curtis and Evan Kelly

to claim the spoils.
