Corkery named Munster Player of the Year
Cork footballer Colin Corkery has won the Provincial Player of the Year award for Munster for the second consecutive year after leading his club, Nemo Rangers, to the brink of their third All-Ireland final in as many years.
Peter Canavan of Errigal Ciaran, Nemo's opponents in this year's semi-finals, has won the Ulster award, while Crossmolina's Kieran McDonald has been named Connacht Player of the Year.
Dunshaughlin's Niall Kelly, whose club is up against Crossmolina in the second All-Ireland semi-final, picked up the Leinster award.
In hurling, meanwhile, Mount Sion star Ken McGrath got the Munster Player of the Year trophy to add to his All-Star award and his Man of the Match prize following Waterford's victory in last year's Munster final.
The Ulster award went to Gregory Kane of Dunloy, Mount Sion's opponents in this year's All-Ireland club semi-finals.
The other two semi-finalists also picked up Player of the Year honours, with Birr's Rory Hanniffy winning the Leinster award and Athenry's Eugene Cloonan securing the Connacht trophy.
