McGeeney and Shefflin scoop Texaco awards

Armagh's Kieran McGeeney and Kilkenny hurling sensation Henry Shefflin have scooped the prestigious Texaco Sports stars of the Year awards.

The pair were part of the victorious Armagh and Kilkenny football and hurling All-Ireland winning squads respectively in 2002.

Other award winners: Sonia O'Sullivan (Athletics), Padraig Harrington (Golf), Damien Duff (Soccer), Sam Lynch (Rowing), Dermott Lennon (Equestrian), Tony McCoy (Racing), Brian O'Driscoll (Rugby) and Lord Clifton Wrottesley (Winter Sports).
