Bailey urges Na Fianna not to appeal

Dublin County Board chairman John Bailey has urged county champions Na Fianna not to appeal any decision to dismiss them from the championship.

The four-in-a-row chasing champions are alleged to have fielded one too many substitutes in their 3-7 to 1-9 quarter-final win over Raheny at Parnell Park on Saturday. They are now likely to be thrown out.

Bailey said: "Na Fianna have been great county champions and representatives of Dublin in the past and they know what's in the best interests of Dublin.

"If they did make a mistake I know they will not want it to manifest on the rest of the county by appealing and leaving us without a representative to face Rathnew in the Leinster SFC on Saturday fortnight."
