Derry Board to discuss manager situation

The Derry County Board will meet tonight to discuss nominations for the position of senior football manager.

Former Derry and Donegal boss Mickey Moran is the clear favourite - but even if he is the only nomination an appointment won't be made until the end of the month.

"I've heard stories saying that an appointment could be made at the meeting on Thursday night but that's simply not true," said county PRO Gerry Donnelly.

"We always said that any appointment would likely be made in the last week of October and that still holds true."
