Tony Dempsey has stepped down as manager of the Wexford Senior hurling team.

Tony Dempsey has stepped down as manager of the Wexford Senior hurling team. Dempsey lead the county to back-to-back Leinster finals when on both occasions they were beaten by Kilkenny.

Meanwhile, Antrim hurling boss Dinny Cahill has ruled out a return to his native Tipperary as speculation continues to mount regarding the future of Nicky English.

English and his backroom staff still have a year to run of their current tenure but they are reportedly considering stepping aside after their failure to defend their league and championship titles.
