Carlow footballer dies in tragic accident

The captain of the Carlow senior football team has been killed in an accident involving a forklift.

The captain of the Carlow senior football team has been killed in an accident involving a forklift.

24-year-old Andrew Cordan entered the yard on Dr Cullen Road in Carlow town with a friend at around 4am this morning, and began to drive the forklift.

It overturned and Mr Cordan was killed.

The other man escaped injury.

Another Carlow player died in a road accident in the North. He was 27-year-old Pat Bermingham who died in an accident near Banbridge.
