Kerry will be playing Division One league football next season after a four point win over Laois at the Gaelic Grounds.

Laois 1-05, Kerry 1-09 (full-time)

Kerry will be playing Division One league football next season after a four point win over Laois at the Gaelic Grounds.

An early Colin Cooper goal set up the Kingdom and they raced into a three point lead after a Seamus Scanlan point after seven minutes.

However, Chris Conway and Michael Lawlor both scored points for Laois and an opportunist Greg Ramsbottom goal set the Leinster side up.

Aodan MacGearailt and Brian McDonald exchanged points and Laois went in at the break 1-04 to 1-02.

Kerry - aided by a strong breeze in windswept conditions - ran away with the game in the second half, scoring seven points without reply.

Chris Conway scored his side’s only point of the second half as Kerry, helped along in particular by Noel Kenneally and the introduction of Dara O’Cinneide, won out by four points.
