St Flannan’s progress after win over Corca Dhuibhne

The Ennis school were 0-9 to 0-5 winners at Mountcollins in Limerick, with Gearóid Cahill, Gavin Cooney and Darragh Duggan each scoring three points. That result means both Flannan’s and Corca Dhuibhne finish on four points, Flannan’s topping the group on the head-to-head record against the Dingle school.

In Group A, two late frees from Conor Russell earned St Francis College, Rochestown a draw with Tralee CBS in Millstreet.

Having trailed by seven at one stage in the first half, Rochestown surged ahead thanks to goals from Adam Hennessy (two) and James Holland and were 3-5 to 1-8 in front at half-time.

Tralee came back strong in the second half though, with points from Eoin Greaney crucial, but Russell had the final say, 3-10 to 1-16 the final score to leave both teams on three points after two games. Victory for Roco against Coláiste na Sceilge will ensure their progression while Tralee should advance if they avoid losing to Coláiste Choilm.

Coláiste Chríost Rí made it two wins from two in Group B, beating Tralee’s Mercy Mounthawk by 3-12 to 0-10.

In the other game, CBS HS Clonmel overcame Clonakilty CC by 3-9 to 1-11, having led by 3-1 to 0-6 at half-time.

In Group C, IS Killorglin beat Hamilton HS of Bandon by 2-14 to 1-7. Killorglin’s final match against Macroom is now effectively a quarter-final play-off.

In Group C of the Dr Harty Cup, Blackwater CS ensured they qualified as group winners, beating Castletroy College by 2-17 to 1-13 in Tipperary town. Castletroy advance as runners-up, with both teams having overcome CBS HS Clonmel.
