The Munster Council is expecting a crowd of no bigger than 35,000 for this Sunday’s provincial hurling decider between Tipperary and Waterford at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

Last year’s decider — which also involved Tipperary and Waterford — but was staged in Thurles, drew an impressive attendance of 43,096.

Munster officials, though, are predicting a notable drop on last year’s figure. But there has been a strong demand for stand tickets which are expected to sell out before Sunday.
