Barry Mulrone hoping to make happy memories with Fermanagh

With no hard and fast payments to show for all their years of work and commitment, then inter-county players are entitled to expect a medal or two by way of compensation.

But if they don’t come, that doesn’t mean their careers count for nothing, according to Fermanagh footballer Barry Mulrone, who is cherishing the memories he’s storing up along the way.

As far as he’s concerned, you can’t buy days like Fermanagh had in Brewster Park a fortnight ago, their mazy run in this year’s All-Ireland SFC qualifiers culminating in a remarkable comeback against Roscommon, On that dramatic day, they kicked six unanswered points in the last five minutes to win by a point.
