Noel Connors ready to play chasing game against Tipp terriers

He carries a reputation as one of the best man-markers in hurling, but Noel Connors knows that against Tipperary defenders must work as a team. The Waterford man acknowledges the challenge he and his colleagues face this weekend in the Munster final, against attackers who interchange with blinding speed.

“If you’re not a moving forward you won’t be on the field for a long time, regardless of who you’re playing. I don’t think there’s any forward that stays in the one position for the whole game. I think that Tipp do it a small bit more than most but at the end of the day you can find yourself anywhere.”

He could end up picking up John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dywer, one of the year’s ace forwards.
