Shane Crowley joy as rampant O’Donovan Rossa crush Clonakilty

O’Donovan Rossa 2-15 Clonakilty 0-10: A West Cork senior football championship game usually produces plenty of fireworks, but this one at Rosscarbery yesterday fizzled out and faded quickly as O’Donovan Rossa crushed a hugely disappointing Clonakilty.

All the ingredients looked in place for a classic clash with glorious sunshine, a superbly prepared pitch and heaving crowds.

Sadly that excitement was quickly extinguished as a superbly drilled Rossa side, with two goals in a three-minute spell, ran out the easiest of winners.
