Eoghan Keniry scored 1-3 and Dan Landers contributed eight points as Killeagh inflicted a second successive defeat on county champions Sarsfields in the RedFM SHL at Riverstown yesterday.

A 2-15 to 2-13 win moved Killeagh up to fourth place in the table as Sars — who lost to Youghal in their previous outing — were unable to overhaul a 2-7 to 1-4 half-time deficit.

Andy Walsh had scored the other Killeagh goal.

Newtownshandrum got their first win of the campaign as they beat Midleton 2-17 to 1-13. Despite trailing by 0-10 to 0-6 at half-time, a quick burst of 1-3 early in the second-half turned the game Newtown’s way.

Donagh Stack and Jamie Coughlan got the North Cork side’s goals while Cathal Naughton, Michael Bowles and Mattie Ryan with long-range frees all contributed points.

In the other game, Erin’s Own moved up to third with a 1-17 to 0-3 victory against Bride Rovers.

Mark Collins scored four points for the Glounthaune side as they led by 0-8 to 0-7 at half-time, with Alan Bowen and Killian Murphy also on target.

Murphy got the key goal early in the second-half and Eoghan Murphy also showed his class, scoring six points, while Michael Murphy also got on the scoresheet.

Courcey Rovers joined Fermoy at the top of Division 1 of the IHL as they edged past Inniscarra on a 1-16 to 1-15 scoreline.

In the Micheál Holland Cup final, Darren Crowley’s goal helped Bandon to beat hosts Kilbrittain by 1-17 to 0-13.
