Páirc Uí Chaoimh work on schedule

Work on reconstructing Páirc Uí Chaoimh will begin next month, the Cork County Board confirmed.

The 45,000 capacity stadium, expected to be opened in early 2017, will see a new three-tier covered stand, which will cater for 13,000 patrons.

The new north stand will accommodate 8,000 with the Blackrock and City end terraces each boasting 12,000 capacities.

It was also stated the Marina Park development by the Cork City Council will be carried out in conjunction with the county board’s redevelopment of the stadium.

Páirc Uí Chaoimh will be the first GAA venue in Ireland located in a municipal park.
