County GAA player targeted for abuse following Joe Brolly column

Joe Brolly has revealed how a county player, incorrectly accused of provided him with information, was subjected to rough treatment in training this week.

In his Gaelic Life column yesterday, the former Derry forward was shocked to learn team-mates would act in such a way towards a colleague they believed had spoken to Brolly about the demands of Gaelic games.

“Something particularly distressing happened after last week’s column appeared. One player (wrongly) suspected of having given me inside information was targeted for special treatment at county training.
