Mayo County Board will issue their new manager with a series of conditions he must adhere to before taking the job.

The board, which met on Wednesday night to discuss the vacant position, are inviting clubs to nominate candidates for the position. However, following a number of disagreements with James Horan during his term in charge, the board will be looking for assurances in writing on a number of issues, namely the availability of players for club games.

“There is a special Croke Park charter for appointing a county manager,” county chairman Paddy McNicholas told the Connaught Telegraph. “But we are entitled to add to this charter and we will be drawing up criteria for all the applicants for the job.”
