A pedestrian, aged in his 40s, has died after being hit by a car in Co Kildare, bringing the total of people who have died on Irish roads so far this year to 190.

GardaĂ­ and emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of the fatal collision on the R445 in Co Kildare this evening.
