Fierce competition for places on Kerry team, says Fitzgerald
The Dr Crokes defender hit back at suggestion the county didn’t have the strength in their numbers to be considered All-Ireland contenders. Fitzgerald had been asked just how good Kerry’s in-house games were to prepare James O’Donoghue and Johnny Buckley for the decider considering they hadn’t played competitive county football in 13 weeks.
But he took the opportunity to instead compliment the quality of player Eamonn Fitzmaurice has to call from the bench.
