Waterford enjoy tenure of master McGrath

Waterford manager Derek McGrath’s clubmates on the county panel are enjoying the De La Salle man’s tenure as county hurling boss.

Jake Dillon, for one, goes back a long way with McGrath: “What you see with Derek is what you get. He gives you complete honesty andunbelievably hard work. I had him as a teacher and with the colleges team, so I know him pretty well. It’s his life — it’s not as if he’s changed since he came in with Waterford. I’m lucky I’ve been involved in his teams so long, he’s freshened things up.”
