Mayo are Connacht’s finest, admits Flanagan

Sligo manager Pat Flanagan admits Mayo have to be favourites to retain their provincial title as he prepares for his first Connacht championship campaign.

The former Westmeath boss saw their promotion bid in Division 3 come up short but his hopeful they can make a bid for provincial honours.

His side are busy on the challenge match circuit — they take on Limerick this weekend — as they prepare to face either Galway or London at Markievicz Park on June 21 in the Connacht semi-final, but he admits it is hard to look beyond Mayo.
