Rebel boss JBM open to selecting dual players in 2014

Cork hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy has revealed Ciarán Sheehan could have been a dual Cork player in 2014 and that the door is open to others who might attempt to balance both codes.

Sheehan announced in November that he was joining AFL side Carlton Blues but Barry-Murphy, speaking on radio show Square Ball on Cork’s LifeFM 93.1, said if Sheehan remained in Cork, then he’d have been approached by the hurling management.

“We’d certainly have been asking him and he was very keen about trying it,” Barry-Murphy said.
