Healy the Two Mile House hero
Healy’s brilliant third minute goal gave his team the ideal start as they moved 1-3 to 0-0 lead by the eighth minute but Louth side Hunsterstown came back into the game in fine style. They got back to within a point with the help of a 28th minute goal by Richie Taafe but the Kildare team rallied with two injury time points and led 1-7 to 1-4 at the break.
Hunsterstown began the second half as Two Mile House had the first and took the lead for the first time when Brendan Lennon pointed in the 38th minute.
Two Mile House responded superbly and regained the initiative when Kildare minor star Healy lashed home his second goal in the 44th minute after Derren Casey managed to keep Aidan Casey’s wayward shot in play.
From then on, there was only going to be one winner and the only blot for Two Mile House was Healy’s late penalty miss which mattered little but was saved by Alan Fedigan.
