Reidy hero for Feohanagh-Castlemahon

Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Limerick) 2-10 Drom-Inch (Tipperary) 3-6

Reidy hero for Feohanagh-Castlemahon

The Limerick side just about deserved their win but Drom-Inch were left to rue some wasted opportunities in a very evenly balanced game.

Feohanagh-Castlemahon were ahead 1-4 to 0-2 after 20 minutes, thanks to a fortuitous goal by Michael Fitzgibbon in the 12th minute.

Drom finished the half well however and a goal by Michael Purcell in injury-time left them only a point adrift, 1-4 to 1-5, at the break. Two minutes after the interval Keith Nolan shot Drom-Inch in front with a goal but Feohanagh fought back to be level at 1-8 to 2-5 after 41 minutes.

Nolan grabbed his second goal a minute later but from the kick-out Feohanagh surged upfield and were awarded a penalty when Alan Roche was grounded. Tossie Butler confidently converted to leave the sides level.

They were still level with two minutes to go when Reidy slipped his marker to notch the decisive point and send his side into the semi-final against Clare champions Coolmeen.

Top performers for the winners were William Lomasney, Tossie Butler, Mattie O’Sullivan, Sean Downey and Michael Fitzgibbon. For Drom-Inch, Seamus Callanan, Liam Ryan, Jamie Moloney, Keith Nolan, and sub Kevin Butler worked very hard.
