Ardscoil’s big finish sees them through

As expected, Limerick’s Ardscoil Rís booked their spot in the Dr Harty Cup quarter-finals as they saw off St Flannan’s, Ennis on a 2-24 to 1-10 scoreline at Sixmilebridge yesterday.

Ardscoil’s big finish sees them through

An unanswered 11 points in the game’s closing stages ensured that Ardscoil, the 2010 and ’11 winners of the competition, went into the last eight with just one dropped point from four Group 3 games, but Flannan’s — the Harty’s record winners — made them battle for it.

Eoin Hanrahan’s goal for the Ennis side tied the game at 1-6 each in the first half, Colin Crehan having scored Ardscoil’s goal, but Charles McCarthy raised another green flag for them as they led 2-9 to 1-6 at half-time.
