Darran O’Sullivan has had to turn down an invite to the International Rules squad because of club and surgery commitments.

Busy O’Sullivan to miss International Rules

It’s the second series in a row the Glenbeigh-Glencar man will miss due to club games. In 2011, he missed out on the trip to Australia.

O’Sullivan has yet to be capped for Ireland and he tweeted yesterday: “Had to turn down Int rules call up AGAIN, big club game in 2 weeks then it’s time to sort out injuries for next season.”

The 27-year-old will undergo surgery to clear up a hip problem that has plagued him since the start of the year. Glenbeigh-Glencar face Keel in the Kerry junior championship final on October 12.

O’Sullivan also revealed Mayo midfielder Aidan O’Shea will be teaming up with Paul Earley’s panel along with Cavan star David Givney, who is line to play in front of his own crowd at Breffni Park on Oct 21.
