Early scores seal Clyda’s passage
The victory and passage to the quarter-final was rarely in doubt, the only worry coming for a couple of minutes in the fourth quarter when they were pegged back to a three-point lead.
Glenville could hardly believe how tough it was for much of this contest, with Clyda powering into what proved to be an unassailable winning lead inside the opening 15 minutes, James Murphy striking three points from frees, Cian O’Sullivan adding two and Conor O’Sullivan one point to establish a six-point buffer. They never looked back although the second quarter was much more evenly contested once Glenville finally got on the board after 24 minutes.
