In search of a first ever senior title and playing against a slight wind advantage, Ennistymon fell behind to a Ollie Quinlan point but settled with scores from Joey Rouine and David Davenport and went in 0-4 apiece at the break.

After the break, Ennistymon pushed defenders Laurence Healy and Michael Houlihan forward and this moved yielded two early points by Rouine and Healy.
