Tipp give Gleeson nod for final

Goalkeeper Darren Gleeson is the most notable inclusion in the Tipperary side for Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park (throw-in 3.30pm).

During the league campaign, the Portroe clubman had shared the role with Brendan Cummins.

Gleeson is one of five changes to the Tipp side. Paul Curran comes in for the injured Paddy Stapleton in the full-back line while Kieran Bergin replaces Donagh Maher in the half-back line for his senior debut, having already represented the county footballers. Conor O’Mahony moves to full-back from centre-back, a direct swap with Pádraic Maher.

In addition, Conor O’Brien is also at half-back, with Brendan Maher going from there to midfield and Noel McGrath moving from midfield to left corner-forward, Jason Forde missing out, and Eoin Kelly starts in place of Pa Bourke.

Galway have made one change for tomorrow’s Cadbury All-Ireland U21FC final against Cork at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick (7pm), with Eoin Walsh replacing Gearóid Canavan at right corner-back.

Cork have named the same starting 15 as played in the semi-final win over Cavan a fortnight ago.

There are three changes to the Kerry minor side for tomorrow’s Munster MFC semi-final play-off clash with Clare at Austin Stack Park in Tralee (4pm).

Fionán Clifford is named at left half-back as Seán T Dillon loses out in a defensive reshuffle. Kieran Murphy replaces Éanna Ó Conchúir at midfield and Shane O’Connor’s inclusion at full-forward sees Conor Jordan move to No 12, as Tomás Ó Sé drops to the bench.

Meanwhile, former Galway U21 hurler Stephen Page is included as a sub on the Kerry senior hurling side which begins its Christy Ring Cup campaign against Down in Newry at 2.30pm tomorrow.
