The All-Ireland winning defender couldn’t cloak his disappointment at the fact that the Paddy McBrearty bite saga is still rumbling on, two and a half weeks after the alleged flashpoint. A Dublin colleague of Brennan’s has been hit with a proposed three match ban arising from investigations into allegations made by Donegal that young forward McBrearty was bitten during their Allianz League draw on April 7.

The player has requested a Central Hearings Committee meeting to contest the proposed ban which is expected to take place over the next 24 hours.
