JBM insists Nash starts as his No 1

Cork manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy says Anthony Nash is “the man in possession” of the Cork goalkeeper’s jersey, likening the situation to 1999, when Donal Óg Cusack took over from Ger Cunningham.

Cusack was last year’s captain until injury intervened in the league, with Nash taking over and winning an All Star.

“Anthony was fantastic when he came in last year,” said Barry-Murphy. “I was very disappointed when Donal Óg got injured after making him captain, and such a serious injury, and he is working his way back to fitness.
