Donaghy to miss first two league games

Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has confirmed that the Kingdom will be without Kieran Donaghy for the first two rounds of the Allianz National League — but not because of injury.

Donaghy to miss first two league games

The Austin Stacks star, who limped out of Saturday’s McGrath Cup opener, is getting married later this month and will be away on honeymoon thereafter, meaning he’ll miss Kerry’s Division One trip to Mayo on February 3rd and the game in Killarney against Dublin on February 10th.

Fitzmaurice said: “We’ll have Kieran again next weekend, hopefully, as long as his injury isn’t too serious. After that he’s getting married and is going to miss the first two games of the league — it’ll be the month of March before we see him in a Kerry jersey again.”
