Nemo stalwart Vincie, RIP

The death has occurred of Vincent (Vincie) Barrett, a member of a prominent Nemo Rangers family well-known in Cork GAA circles.

Aged 73, he represented the club with distinction before a head injury ended his career. He also played at inter-county and provincial level and, in later years, excelled at pitch and putt and golf.

Playing a leading role on the Nemo team which won the county junior football title in 1957, Vincie played senior football with Cork, as well as being picked at intermediate and senior level in the National League.
