Maher and O’Connor scoop top Munster accolades

Two leading inter-county performers yesterday scooped the top accolades when the Bord Gáis Energy Munster GAA Awards for 2012 were announced.

Patrick “Bonner” Maher got the nod for his outstanding role in Tipperary’s back-to-back Munster senior hurling championship wins, while Cork footballer Donncha O’Connor played a huge part in their triumphant Munster run.

The awards will be presented on Saturday night at a gala dinner in the Malton Hotel, Killarney where over 30 players, officials and legends will receive accolades.
