Cork selector Ger Cunningham has revealed that goalkeeper Donal Óg Cusack has begun light jogging less than four months after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Cusack’s career was thrown into doubt when he suffered the injury at Semple Stadium but the 35-year-old has made remarkable progress according to team medics. The Cloyne man is targeting a return to inter-county hurling next season.

“Because of the fact that Donal Óg is working with Deccie at the training sessions, everybody else can see the work that he’s putting in,” said Cunningham.
