Kerry sweat on O’Sullivan

Darran O’Sullivan has emerged as a major doubt for Kerry’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Westmeath on Sunday.

O’Sullivan is hampered by a hamstring injury and didn’t feature in Kerry’s final trial game in Tralee yesterday.

Kerry boss Jack O’Connor is certain to be without defender Daniel Bohan for the trip to the Midlands after the Austin Stacks defender tore his achilles tendon in that match. There are fears he may be out for the remainder of the championship.

Bryan Sheehan, who missed the defeat to Cork through injury, impressed at midfield and is set to return to partner Anthony Maher next weekend.

Kerry could start James O’Donoghue at corner-forward in Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Westmeath in Mullingar. O’Donoghue, impressed off the bench in the Munster championship defeat to Cork but could face competition from Patrick Curtin and Donnchadh Walsh to get the nod ahead of Kieran O’Leary.
