McHale quickly brings players down to earth

The team were swamped by the hundreds of Clare supporters who invaded the pitch after the game but one man stood aside already working on the vast task ahead for the Munster final.

Liam McHale was one of those players once upon a time and knows more than most the nightmare waiting for his team if they don’t come back to earth fast.

“We were terrible,” he said. “David Tubridy bailed us out with two superb scores but we went away from what we were doing. We were moving the ball and creating space in the first half and then we started carrying the ball into tackles, panicking a little.
