25,000 crowd expected in Thurles
With the good weather expect to extend over the weekend, it should contribute to the attendance for the Tipperary-Limerick and Tipperary-Kerry games.
Fitzgerald: “We’d be hoping for a crowd somewhere in the region of 25,000. With the warm weather we’re having, there should be a good walk-up crowd.”
Fitzgerald is not expecting any turnstile difficulties similar to those encountered in Thurles for the Allianz Hurling Division 1 semi-finals last month when supporters faced lengthy queues to purchase tickets.
“What happened at the league semi-finals was corrected for the league final. We don’t expect any issues on Sunday.
“At the same time, we would be encouraging patrons to arrive early to the games.”
A crowd of 36,246 attended Tipperary and Limerick’s last Munster SHC meeting in 2007 at the Gaelic Grounds, the first of three games in the tie between the counties. In 2010, the last time Tipp hosted Kerry in the Munster SFC, 4,965 watched in Semple Stadium.
