Land would ‘save’ GAA club’s future

The future of Kilgarvan GAA Club would be safeguarded if a deal can be struck to purchase 15 acres of land adjoining its current ground, club chairman Tom Randles insisted last night.

Land would ‘save’ GAA club’s future

But the Kerry GAA club is facing a battle for the site — which houses an old presbytery and is owned by St Brendan’s Trust — that has been put on the open market at €230,000. The club has bid €205,000 but it is understood two other parties have bid well in excess of this. Mr Randles said it is vital the club secures the land.

“The club has only one field at present and there is no other place it can go except on a piece of the presbytery property around it. The GAA pitch is hemmed in between the property for sale.”
