Martin double sinks Sligo
Martin, a member of the Galway minor team which won the 2007 All-Ireland title, scored an astonishing opening goal to put Galway 2-4 to 0-6 ahead at the interval.
Sligo reduced the margin after the restart with points from Brendan Egan and Murphy, but goals by Nicky Joyce and Mark Hehir killed off the contest.
