Cooney delays take-off for book launch

The 2010 and ‘11 All-Stars hurling teams departed for San Francisco yesterday — but the travelling party was missing one key figure.

Normally the president of the GAA would be on board the trip, but Christy Cooney had to delay his journey by a day, due to a pressing engagement in Midleton GAA club last night.

The occasion was the launching of Tom Morrison’s book ‘An Illustrated History of the GAA in East Cork 1924-2010’, produced by the divisional board.
