Dowling: We knew we had beating of the Gunners

NA PIARSAIGH’S two-goal hero Shane Dowling says he and his team-mates knew they’d “be well able to win” their Munster Club SHC semi-final against Ballygunner last Sunday.

The Waterford champions were warm favourites given their experience in the competition and the fact that they were playing in the county ground, Walsh Park, but the Limerick champions, on their first outing in the provincial series, stormed home, with three late goals, to win by six points.

“We couldn’t understand why everybody was writing us off,” said Dowling.
