Central Council to act on replay conundrum

CENTRAL COUNCIL will next month set about overturning the facility for replays in All-Ireland SFC and SHC qualifiers.

GAA Director General Páraic Duffy yesterday revealed he will recommend Wexford and Kildare’s successful motion be amended so as to avoid “fixture chaos” next year.

The proposal, which gained 69% support at this year’s Congress and was delayed by a season due to logistics, will see replays apply to all senior championship games.
