Busy time for brothers on special day for Quaid family

IT was a momentous occasion for the Quaid family on Sunday in Semple Stadium when Nicky followed in the footsteps of his legendary late father Tommy by making his senior championship debut in goal for Limerick.

However Nicky’s younger brother Tommy was unable to cheer him on despite having featured for the county intermediate team in the curtain-raiser.

Tommy started the Munster IHC semi-final against Waterford at 1.45pm and registered 1-2 from play as Limerick triumphed by 2-12 to 2-9. After that match he left headed for Cork where he was involved with third-level outfit CIT in their county senior hurling championship tie against Imokilly in Páirc Uí Rinn at 6.30pm.
