DONNCHA O’CONNOR has blamed the fixtures schedule in Cork as the chief cause of injuries in the county squad ahead of Sunday’s Allianz Division One final.

Conor Counihan won’t name his team until later this week because of the number of players currently receiving treatment for a variety of ailments.

Paul Kerrigan (hamstring) and Ciarán Sheehan (ankle) picked up injuries in the last five days playing for Nemo Rangers and Cork IT respectively, and O’Connor has pointed the finger of blame at the high volume of club ties in recent weeks.
