Power out of Tipp clash

KILKENNY All Star full-forward Richie Power won’t be available to Brian Cody for Saturday week’s Allianz NHL Division One opener against Tipperary.

The Carrickshock man is recovering from minor surgery on a hip problem but is expecting to resume training before the end of the month and be back for the middle of the Cats’ campaign.

“I had a bit of a problem with my hip but got it sorted a couple of weeks ago,” said Power. “I missed some training but it’s not too serious. I won’t be available for the Tipp game and I’m waiting to get the all-clear to go back training. It was an ongoing issue that I had last year so I had to get it solved.”
