Crokes refreshed and raring to go

DR CROKES captain Brian Looney admits the delay instaging their AIB Munster Club SFC final against Nemo Rangers has been a blessing in disguise.

While unfortunate, the double postponement of the fixture before Christmas handed Harry O’Neill’s side a reprieve from a hectic run of games. Looney acknowledges he and his team-mates are entering Sunday’s game at the Gaelic Grounds invigorated after the extended break.

“We were tired and it showed in the latter stages especially in the semi-final against Aherlow,” said Looney, about the November game in which they needed extra-time to see off the Tipperary champions.
