KILKENNY County Board secretary Ned Quinn has claimed the new 26-man panel rule introduced for this year’s leagues and championships will inadvertently “belittle” players.

The Kilkenny delegation spoke against the motion at Congress last year which was passed, thus cutting inter-county panels from 30 to 26.

Already, Pat Gilroy, Mick O’Dwyer and Quinn’s fellow Kilkenny man and senior hurling selector Martin Fogarty have spoken out against the measure.
